Car Raid
The other day, I raided my mom, Michelle Kopp's, car. She drives a 2015 Honda pilot that is quite large, with 3 rows of seats and a total carrying capacity of 8 people.
"I have a big car because I am always driving lots of kids around," Kopp said, "and it's a lot easier to fit all 6 of us into one car than to take two separate cars."
Inside her car, she had a phone charger that was plugged in and constantly charging her Airpod bluetooth headphones.
"I like to keep my headphones charging all of the time because I get calls in the car a lot," Kopp said, "and I have to be able to take those calls without taking my hands off the steering wheel. If my headphones aren't charged I end up having to hold my phone while driving or put it on speaker which are less convenient than just using my headphones.
She also has a lot of crumbs and sticky pieces of gum around the cracks and crevices of her car, and all of the back two rows' cupholders have crumbs.
"The crumbs are not from me, they're from you kids eating in the car and not cleaning up after yourselves," Kopp said.
Finally, one of the seats in the second row was taken up by a large child seat that was full of trash and crumbs.
"That seat is for Sophie, she is 8 years old," Kopp said, "and she doesn't quite weigh enough to qualify for a booster seat, so she has to sit in the big booster seat with a back."

The Dispatch #5
First: The first story was about the safety precautions and the actions students have taken in the days after the Parkland school shooting. Students organized and led a march on the capital to protest gun violence.
Second: Austin Package bombs deliver violence to doorsteps
1. Mateo Huerta, Mark Robinson, Aaron Bryant, Emily Robinett
2. I think the quote at the end when he says, "You go through life and you feel moderately safe and then you don't feel safe and..."
3. Yes
4. Quote
Third:
1. I thought my favorite photo in the paper was the picture of the brain being held by the witch like claws. I thought this was cool because it was really detailed for a picture that someone made using illustrator. I think the worst photo was the picture of the guy with the deer because it was just a front on picture and I thought it was kind of bland. I would probably have liked to do the march on the capital story, so that I could go and document a really significant event. I think the photography in this issue was good, but it wasn't as good as some of the other issues.

Phillip
Phillip the finch shifted himself in his perch. He scanned the muddy ground, searching for small bugs or worms that had been driven out of the ground due to the torrential rainfall that had occurred the previous night. The sun was just starting to poke it's head over the horizon, and Phillip knew he had little time before the other finches began their hunt. He had woken up extra early today to hunt as he knew the ground would be rich with prey. He then spotted a tiny earthworm wriggling in the weeds directly below him. Wasting no time, he leaped from his perch and swooped down towards the earth. He landed on the ground with a thud, and snatched the worm up just in time as it tried to squirm it's way back to the ground. The worm wiggled in uncontrolled spasms as Phillip held it in his beak. Just then, the morning rush started. Birds of all sizes began waking up and flying down to the lower branches, and the silent morning soon became a cacophony of chirps, squeaks and squawks. "Nice catch there Phil!" Phillip trotted around, showing his worm off to the growing crowd of animals in the trees. Phillip noticed a couple of birds descend from the lower branches. As they got closer, Phillip realized that it was Jonathan and his lackeys. Jonathan landed gracefully on the ground next to Phillip. "Got yourself a nice worm Phil?" "Yeah" "looks like you had to wake up pretty early to get that one." "Yeah" "It'd be a shame if someone stole it." "Jonathan, please, go get your own worm, there's plenty more out there." Jonathan stepped closer. "Listen you little runt. The way I see it, if you can't defend your catch, then you don't deserve to have it in the first place." The other birds, sensing the tension in the air, began to gather around Phillip and Jonathan, all of them, flying to the ground, and forming a big circle around the two finches. "Well, are we gonna get to see a good fight or what?" Yelled one impatient cardinal from the crowd. "Jonathan, I don't wanna do this today," Phillip pleaded. Jonathan stood there for a moment, pondering this idea, and then finally said. "Alright Phil. Looks like you worked hard enough for that worm. You keep it. I won't fight you today." The crowd groaned, most of them hoping for a fight. Fights always got birds excited. Phil breathed a sigh of relief, and turned to cut through the crowd to get to his nest. Just as he was about to escape to his nest, he felt an explosion of pain in his lower tailbone as he was rocketed into the crowd. He got up wearily, his tailbone aching, and was pushed into the circle by a couple of grackels. "Never let your guard down, short stack," Said Jonathan as he lunged at Phillip. Phillip avoided the attack, and Jonathan flew right past him and sprawled out onto the muddy soil. Phillip turned around and was about to leap off the ground to fly, but Jonathan clamped his beak around Phillips leg and pulled him towards the earth. Phillip tried to raise his wing to protect his face, but Jonathan stamped it down and dug his claws into Phillips wing. Phillip cried out, but Jonathan did not relent. Instead, he began pulling Phillips feathers out with his beak. Phillip tried to get out of his hold, but Jonathan's talons were sturdy. He struggled and struggled, but the worm tumbled from his beak onto the ground, still wriggling wildly. Jonathan's attacks finally subsided, and he grabbed the worm from the ground in triumph. "Thanks for the worm, kid," he said as he and his friends took off to enjoy their meal up in the treetops. As the crowed began to disperse, Phillip felt wings grab him around the stomach and pull him up. "C'mon Phil, you gotta get up." Phillip looked up to see that his savior was his best friend Kyle, a Mockingbird from the eastern grove who had been Phillip's rock for that past 3 months.
Merger Preview
1. I think one problem with mergers could be multiple pictures of you overlapping.
2. I think a great place to take pictures at bowie would be in front of something simple such as the storage boxes near the baseball field that are just plain white.
3. I think I could maybe do a bunch of photos of myself doing a dance.
4. I think wearing something simple would be good as to not make things move.

HDR preview
1. The camera will need to have a consistent ISO and aperture, but the shutter speed will be changed.
2. To take this type of image, you need a camera and a tripod.
3. Someone might take an HDR image to add depth to an image and create a 3d effect.
4. I think it will show the line between an object and the sky very well and make the image come to life.
C.E. 6.2
1. 200
2. He is controversial because of his strict immigration policy, and he is feeling frustrated with how little importance he has.
3. Filling political clubs with their supporters to gain endorsements.
4. Bars and restaurants.
5. 250 million
6. This story is essentially comparing the benefits and the drawbacks that shaving a day off the school week would cause. Some advantages of a four day school week include the fact that teachers, parents, students, and even businesses prefer the shorter school week. Another positive thing with shorter school weeks is that teachers have more time to plan lessons during the weekend, and are less tired and stressed out, making them teach better. A disadvantage of having a four day school week is that parents are struggling to find childcare for a whole day while they are all at work. If I only had to go to school 4 days a week, I think I would probably have a lot more fun of a childhood, because I would be able to chill out and do fun things that I like during the weekend. I think my parents would prefer the shorter week because they are always saying that school is too stressful these days and kids should just be kids. I would definitely prefer longer school days over one extra school day because I'm used to long school-related days because of marching band.
