The company making cell phone sleeves is called Yondr. There are currently 600 American high schools using Yondr. The concept behind the pouches is to lock up phones for a certain amount of time so that people aren't using their phones at parties, school, etc... At San Lorenzo HS, there were a lot of positive results that came from schools using Yondr, including better grades, less discipline issues, and more students interacting. I think the pouches could be useful at school, and maybe at social gatherings or shows so that people aren't distracted while at an event. I wouldn't actually mind that much if Bowie stopped using phones at school because I went without my phone for about a month at one point during the year, and although there were some communication issues, it didn't affect my happiness. I think that people will probably discover that constantly being on their phones cheapens life and will try to limit usage.
