I think guns should be controlled more strictly because obviously there is a problem if an 18 year old boy, with a history of mental health issues, is able to buy an AR-15. I think many people in Austin would support more gun control because Austin is a very liberal city. I think the AR-15 should be banned because of the high-capacity magazine. You shouldn't be able to own a weapon that can fire off 30 shots repeatedly without stopping to reload. I've heard both sides of the argument when talking to people, but my family and I are all firm believers in stricter gun control. I would actively participate in trying to make schools safer because that is the thing that is most relevant to me.
